Manager, Engineering (Power Generation)

xAI

Southaven, MS, US

This role puts you in charge of critical infrastructure from day one. xAI is building AI systems to understand the universe, and that work runs on power. As an early-career manager, you'll own the engineering and optimization of large-scale power systems—turbines, combined-cycle plants, and emerging tech—that keep their AI superclusters running. It's a direct path to real leadership responsibility.

You'll lead engineering and design strategy for high-capacity, reliable power infrastructure. That means managing technical decisions, working hands-on alongside your team, and ensuring uninterrupted power to mission-critical facilities. In a flat organization, you earn leadership by showing initiative and delivering excellence. Communication and prioritization matter as much as engineering chops.

This fits engineers with strong fundamentals in power systems, thermodynamics, or electrical engineering. You should be comfortable with complexity, have work ethic to match the pace of an early-stage company, and genuinely curious about how things work. A portfolio of projects or internships in infrastructure or energy systems helps.
