This is an early-career opportunity to step into an architecture role that combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibility. You'll design cloud-native systems from the ground up, make technology choices that matter, and help shape how a team approaches problem-solving. Most recent grads start in individual contributor roles. This position accelerates that path by giving you both depth and breadth.
Your day-to-day involves architecting scalable cloud solutions using AWS and modern software stacks. You'll define system design patterns, evaluate technologies against business needs, and work across teams to align technical decisions with company goals. You'll also mentor other engineers, which means you're building leadership skills early while staying technical.
This role fits you if you have solid software engineering foundations—whether from a CS degree, bootcamp, or self-taught path—and hands-on experience with cloud platforms or distributed systems. Lead Architect As a Lead Software and Cloud Architect at Particle41, you will drive the design and development of our cloud-native solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide strategic guidance to align technical decisions with business objectives, ensuring the delivery of innovative and high-quality projects. Your role will also involve mentoring and coaching team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. In This Role, You Will: Architecture Design: Lead the design and architecture of cloud-native solutions using modern software stacks and AWS. Define system architecture and design patterns to ensure scalability and reliability. Evaluate and recommend technologies and frameworks to support business requirements. Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance to align technical decisions with business goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to define the technical roadmap and vision. Drive innovation by researching emerging technologies and industry trends. Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills and expertise. Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve quality and maintainability. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and QA. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates. Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes. Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance on architectural decisions and implementations. Lead by example through hands-on involvement in coding and design discussions. Identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure project success. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and methodologies. Implement metrics and monitoring systems to track system performance and reliability. Facilitate lessons-learned meetings to learn from past experiences and improve future projects. Industry Best Practices: Stay up to date with industry best practices and standards in software architecture. Implement best practices for security, scalability, and performance. Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and DevOps practices within the team. Skills and Experience We Value: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred 8+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on architecture design. Extensive expertise in .NET, Java, or NodeJS programming language and AWS cloud services. Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native solutions. Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing engineering teams. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. Experience with agile development methodologies and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Familiarity with modern software development practices, tools, and frameworks. Certifications in relevant technologies, such as AWS Solutions Architect, .NET, etc., are a plus.
