Position Overview Aksia is seeking an investment research professional to join our Investment Research team, focusing on private credit secondary investments and to a lesser extent co-investments and primaries. Our Investment Research team is responsible for identifying and screening potential investment opportunities, performing valuation and related transaction due diligence and structuring analyses, proposing investment recommendations, and monitoring portfolio holdings. This individual will be integral to the continued growth of Aksia’s secondaries investments and responsibilities may further include various business development activities such as prospect discussions, networking and educational initiatives. This position can be based in Aksia's New York office or in our Chicago or San Diego offices, or remote and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients. The firm features a global team of investment research professionals covering the private credit markets and works with over 100 institutional clients including pension plans, insurance companies, government-related institutions, endowments, foundations, and superannuation funds. Responsibilities: Taking a lead role in sourcing, screening, and analyzing private credit secondary transactions and select co-investments and primaries Providing thorough qualitative research and financial statement analysis Conducting financial modelling, valuation, structuring and sensitivity analyses to support the evaluation and pricing of secondary opportunities Managing third-party diligence, conducting secondary research, participating with reference calls Liaising with primary fund research team to assist with the evaluation of lead sponsors, credit portfolios and deal sourcing Summarizing research into investment memorandums and presenting key findings to the Investment Committee Managing and maintaining the firm’s internal database, including tracking investments and recording performance Monitoring clients’ secondary investments and portfolios Authoring private markets focused research Participating in business development activities Qualifications: 4-10+ years of experience working with private market secondaries (GP with secondaries practice, fund of funds, institutional investor, private markets consultant, secondaries advisor, etc.) Strong financial modeling, analysis and underwriting skills Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to offer new ideas Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with limited oversight Strong written and verbal communication skills Attentive to detail Ability to think analytically and critically Strong excel skills Positive attitude Team player Strong work ethic Originally posted on Himalayas
