Starting as a Cloud Engineer means getting hands-on with the infrastructure that powers modern applications. You'll build real systems, see them run in production, and understand how cloud platforms actually work. This is solid early-career grounding for anyone serious about engineering.
Your day-to-day: managing and optimizing multi-cloud environments across AWS and OCI. You'll design scalable infrastructure using EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda. You'll write Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CloudFormation, build CI/CD pipelines, and own cost optimization. You'll also handle networking (VPCs, Transit Gateways, security), implement IAM policies, and monitor systems using CloudWatch and CloudTrail. This covers the full stack of what cloud engineering actually involves.
This role fits you if you have a foundation in cloud platforms or systems engineering, understand networking basics, and want to go deeper. A portfolio with Terraform scripts, CloudFormation templates, or a simple CI/CD pipeline helps. Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related backgrounds are solid, but curiosity and the ability to read documentation matter more.

About this role
Day to Day : Infrastructure & Deployment Manage and optimize multi-cloud environments across AWS and OCI platforms. Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, OCI Compute, Autonomous Database, and Functions. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and OCI Resource Manager. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeStar, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and OCI DevOps. Drive cost optimization initiatives including resource right-sizing and performance tuning. Networking & Connectivity Design and manage hybrid connectivity solutions using AWS Direct Connect and OCI FastConnect. Configure and maintain VPCs, Transit Gateways, VCNs, DRGs, VPNs, and firewall configurations. Ensure secure and efficient cross-cloud communication and routing. Security & Governance Implement IAM policies, roles, and access controls across AWS and OCI. Enforce governance using AWS Control Tower and OCI Landing Zones. Monitor environments using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, OCI Logging, and Cloud Guard. Manage DNS configurations using Route53 and OCI DNS. DevOps & Automation Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes. Develop scripts and tools using Python for operational efficiency. Integrate CI/CD pipelines with Terraform and cloud-native services. Collaboration & Documentation Work closely with application, security, and architecture teams. Document architecture designs, SOPs, and incident RCA reports. Provide technical guidance and best practices to stakeholders.
