API Engineer
distrokid
This is a backend infrastructure role that puts you in front of real scale problems from day one. You'll design and own APIs that connect millions of musicians to streaming platforms and AI tools. If you want to move fast and see your code power something people actually use, this is the kind of early-career position that teaches you how distributed systems work under pressure.
You'll design and build high-throughput backend systems on AWS, architect distributed infrastructure, and work across teams to ship features from API design through deployment. The work spans backend development, infrastructure decisions, and DevOps concerns—so you'll learn how the whole stack connects.
You need solid fundamentals in backend development, experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and comfort with systems thinking. Computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience matters more than the degree. A portfolio showing real API or backend work is a strong signal.
DistroKid is fully remote and hires from the United States (Eastern time zones), Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Note: visa sponsorship is not available. Apply on CareerJumpship and be ready to show your work.
